Getting here

The Postcode is CO15 1LE The theatre is located opposite Clacton Hospital and just a few minutes walk from the town centre and seafront.

The theatre has a small public car park located to the side of the venue (opposite the hospital) which is pay and display for the general public. If you are here seeing a show, you do NOT need to purchase a ticket. WHAT3WORDS: producers.earpiece.performs There is plenty of on street parking near the theatre after 6pm, and space along the seafront during the day.

Your Visit

Once purchased, tickets are non-refundable or exchangable unless the performance is cancelled. Tickets can be swapped to another performance of the same show (The Summer Show as an example). Under some exceptional circumstances and with at least 48 hours notice, we may be able to exchange or credit your theatre account, but we will not be able to return the booking fee. Any exchange or credit is at the manager’s discretion. If the show is sold out we will try to resell your tickets minus the booking fee.

The main doors to the theatre open one hour before the shows starts. The doors to the auditorium normally open 30 minutes before the performance starts.

We are unable to offer free seats for carers. The West Cliff Theatre is run by a charitable Trust and we receive no external funding. We always do our best to keep ticket prices as reasonable as possible.

Where possible we try to get a standard and concession price for shows, but the final decision is made by the the promoter or artist.

We only recieve a small percentage of the value of each ticket sold. By adding a booking fee, we are able to keep and invest that money into the upkeep of the theatre and to help fund improvements for the future.

We estimate 2 hrs 20 minutes including the interval but don’t normally know the exact running time until the afternoon of the show. There is a red board just inside the theatre by the front doors which will display the expected finish time for that performance.

Facilities

The Stage Door Bar is normally open one hour before and after a perfromance and during the interval. Drinks can be taken in to the auditorium in a plastic cup. The bar is run as a franchise by the owners of Charnallies Restaurant and Bar.

We do not serve hot food at the theatre. There are plenty of restaurants and fast food options in the town centre which is a short walk from the theatre. The Stage Door Bar is run as a franchise by the owners of Charnallies. They offer a discount to ticket holders, but please check with their staff as there are some exclusion dates to any theatre related offer. Call them on 01255 688655 or visit charnallies.co.uk

We have a kiosk that sells sweets, soft drinks and Marshfield ice creams. Ice cream is also sold in the auditorium during the interval. We accept cash and card payments (excluding American Express).
