West Cliff Equal Opportunities and Diversity Strategy.

The West Cliff (Tendring) Trust is committed to ensuring that equality and diversity principles along with accessibility, inclusivity and respect underpin all areas of our organisation. The West Cliff continues to be a focal point for the local community, and we are determined to ensure that the valuable work we do and that the opportunities that are available, can be accessed by everyone.

EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES:

The West Cliff is an equal opportunities employer. We aim to ensure that no job applicant or employee (be that paid or voluntary) receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of sex, race, colour, nationality, disability, ethnic origins, class, sexual orientation, gender re-assignment, age, marriage, civil partnership, political or religious belief. Applications from Deaf and disabled people are always welcome. Procedures, policies and criteria will be reviewed regularly to ensure that individuals are selected, promoted and treated based on their relevant merits.

DIVERSITY:

We embrace diversity and will continue to encourage the core values we believe in; a rich diversity of backgrounds and experience are essential to our organisation. Through our inclusive Youth Group we will continue to encourage all levels of ability and provide a safe and supportive environment to allow our young people to grow, whilst offering them new experiences.

We will also continue to actively seek a broad spectrum of volunteers to help support the organisation, be that in a FOH position, working behind the scenes or by joining the Trust.

AUDIENCE DIVERSITY:

This remains our greatest challenge, but we will continue to identify new and exciting product that will help to attract new customers whilst maintaining the wonderful and loyal customer base we already have. We will seek to broaden our appeal and reach via marketing, social media and community-based functions. We will also continue to make our building and performances as accessible as possible whilst cultivating a friendly and welcoming environment for customers, staff and performers.

GOVERNANCE:

The Trust will continue to work to attract skilled, supportive and diverse members who are passionate about our core values and aims. We firmly believe that for the West Cliff to survive and thrive we MUST continue to evolve and grow as an organisation.
