Story of Bart

“The Story of Bart – A Musical Play tells the story of Eastender Lionel Bart. He was a songwriting genius having a career penning huge global chart hits, musicals, film scores and one of the biggest musicals of all time Oliver! Because of this success Bart was earning in the 1960’s the same as the average working man’s weekly wage every minute, but things went wrong, very wrong and by 1972 he was tragically declared bankrupt. Was their a ‘Happy Ending’? West End star John Barr (Les Miserables, Aspects of Love, Evita & Sweeney Todd) takes on the title role and is joined by a full band as they perform Bart’s most unforgettable hits (LIVING DOLL, HANDFUL OF SONGS, DO YOU MIND, SONGS FROM OLIVER! BLITZ, FINGS AIN’T WHAT THEY USED TO BE, MAGGIE MAY!) and many many more… whilst also telling his amazing life story.“
